Lincoln stand-off ends with suicide

The Lincoln Police said this afternoon it was called to Blue Flame Road after receiving a call saying someone broke into a home.

It turned out to be the caller's estranged husband, armed with a handgun. He barricaded himself in the bedroom, and police called in their SWAT team.

The man took the woman hostage, but eventually released her. After firing one round at police, he shot himself in the head.

He was pronounced dead at 6:41a after being brought to Bryan LGH West.
